Miller’s Crossing (1990)

Updated: Jul 31, 2019

The epitome of a slow burner, a classic noir but with the edges slightly rounded off. It’s a reminder though of just how great an onscreen presence Gabriel Byrne is. Packed with style, great dialogue, I’m not sure I’m ready to hold it in the high regard that some do just yet, maybe it needs to be seen a few times, but none the less, I can see why it claims modern classic status. The music though... well I guess you can’t have everything, awful rumpus.

7/10
